Hello! I'm Julie.
I've had a regular, committed yoga practice for over 20 years now. Yoga brings a balance to all the dimensions of my life; raising my family, leading projects for major corporations in the financial services industry, enjoying the good company of family and friends and travelling as much as possible, as far as possible. I'm excited to be at a point in my life where I can commit to teaching others. Life is full and I am grateful. |
What Are My Classes Like?
I guide thoughtful Hatha Flow classes that come from an Ashtanga lineage with Iyengar alignment and prop influences. My classes are accessible, grounded and moderately paced. All are welcome. Alignment details, breath practice (Pranayama) and mindfulness are woven into each class. I love using bolsters, blocks, blankets, and straps to aid you as you develop a sustainable yoga practice that fits your own unique body. We practice without suffering. My goal is to provide space for you to step out of your busy schedule and to practice --with modifications and options—whatever is useful, relevant and appropriate for you. It is my hope that you’ll leave class feeling balanced and refreshed—ready to carry the benefits of your yoga practice off the mat and into the rest of your day. |
Why Do I Teach?
Teaching Matters. I believe, through teaching, that I can make a positive difference by helping others reduce stress and find the benefits of yoga within their own bodies. That, for me, is meaningful and precious. I like sharing all that I've accumulated within me over the years as I've broadened and deepened my practice. Teaching makes me happy. First and foremost, I am a practitioner. I know I'll be a student of yoga and practice forever. I want to share that joy and guide others so that they may find the beauty, stillness and self-healing within themselves, on and off the mat. |
