A 3-hour in person workshop
Part 1 - Julie Newbold
75 minutes of bone healthy Hatha Flow focused on strength and stabilization, lengthening the spine, core and balance. This practice is ideal for women and men who work hunched over a desk and people with osteopenia or osteoporosis. We'll break down poses into progressive steps and practice modifications that help keep bones safe. There will be time for Q & A to dive deeper into understanding why certain modifications may be more appropriate and what poses to avoid if you have low bone density. All levels, ages and questions are welcome and encouraged. |
Part 2 - Leslie Dicke, HHC
After a delicious break to enjoy some nutritious treats, we will discover the important role diet and lifestyle play in overall bone health. You'll learn some underlying causes of bone loss and learn easy, non-invasive ways to reduce inflammation and prevent - or even heal - back, bone or joint pain. We will explain the link between gut and bone health, which food choices offer bioavailable nutrients, and how to maximize calcium absorption to help slow bone loss and reduce risk of fracture. Taste for yourself how eating for bone health can be both easy and delicious! A bone-friendly menu plan (including recipes), is included. |
